Overview
GKN Aerospace is seeking a Welder I - Certified for 1st Shift in Repair Solutions. The role involves specializing in TIG welding on various metals and mentoring junior welders while contributing to a culture of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Performs TIG welding on titanium and aluminum jet engine components.
- Cleans, grinds, and performs inspection as required to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Helps in the design stage as required on projects.
- Mentors and provides guidance to junior Welders.
- Checks all work to assure quality standards are maintained.
- Maintains a clean work environment in compliance with standards.
- Assists in developing a business culture that supports company objectives.
- Ensures compliance with safety and environmental policies.
- Performs daily preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of TIG welding experience or completion of additional certification.
- Must achieve AWS certification (AWS D17.1) within 6 months of start.
- 3+ years of TIG welding experience with basic math and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Reliable attendance is essential.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
