Overview

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Welder I - Certified for 1st Shift in Repair Solutions. The role involves specializing in TIG welding on various metals and mentoring junior welders while contributing to a culture of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Performs TIG welding on titanium and aluminum jet engine components.
  • Cleans, grinds, and performs inspection as required to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Helps in the design stage as required on projects.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to junior Welders.
  • Checks all work to assure quality standards are maintained.
  • Maintains a clean work environment in compliance with standards.
  • Assists in developing a business culture that supports company objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of TIG welding experience or completion of additional certification.
  • Must achieve AWS certification (AWS D17.1) within 6 months of start.
  • 3+ years of TIG welding experience with basic math and blueprint reading.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Reliable attendance is essential.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
