Overview
The Welder position at the FAA 145 Repair Station involves preparing, arranging, fitting, and assembling various materials and components using multiple welding processes. The role requires expertise in TIG, MIG, and torch welding techniques, particularly for aviation components with strict tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Apply all types of welding processes to various Aviation Components.
- Make welds with tight tolerance requirements and limited accessibility.
- Interpret and execute repairs and production using drawings and manuals.
- Set up and perform welding operations utilizing both manual and automatic techniques.
- Inspect welds visually and dimensionally for conformance to specifications.
- Possess knowledge of general welding practices and metal groups.
- Participate as a flexible team player in problem solving and continuous improvements.
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent certification.
- Must meet ITAR definition of US Person.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience using TIG, MIG, and torch welding.
- Experience with aerospace alloys such as Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium.
- Must pass weld test coupons per AWS D17.
- Must have sheet metal fabrication skills.
- Demonstrate tube welding at 45, 60, and 90 degree angles.
- Ongoing FAA training and testing required.
