Overview

The Welder position involves welding, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining equipment while ensuring adherence to safety regulations. The role requires a thorough understanding of welding processes and the ability to work in various environments.

Responsibilities

  • Welding, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining all equipment, both rented and owned.
  • Operating all authorized and required welding equipment.
  • Monitoring the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
  • Preparing, assembling, and tack welding parts that need to be welded.
  • Following and upholding all required safety rules and regulations.
  • Recognizing and correcting safety hazards.
  • Performing general housekeeping duties related to equipment and cleaning of the work area.
  • Supporting other shop activities as required.
  • Checking finished work to ensure it meets desired tolerances.
  • Maintaining all tools and equipment assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of welding experience.
  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used for welding.
  • Ability to read and understand welding instructions from drawings, models, and blueprints.
  • Ability to mark-up construction drawings with as-built information.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments in various forms.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics related to welding assignments.
  • Ability to work in different environments (i.e. inside, outside, very hot, very cold).
