Overview

TechnipFMC is committed to driving real change in the energy industry through innovation and collaboration. The Rigid Pipe Engineer will work within the global Core Technologies team to provide expert support for Spoolbase Fabrication, covering all aspects of a product's life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
  • Identify and drive Safety Improvement Focus Program (SIFP) initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical expert, guiding and supporting team members in daily operations.
  • Interpret client specifications and ensure alignment with fabrication activities.
  • Develop and approve qualification plans for welding, NDE, and coating processes.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting during qualification and production phases.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams to ensure vendor compliance.
  • Lead failure investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Champion standardization, simplification, and industrialization initiatives across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Material Science, Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
  • Minimum 2+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in welding processes (IWE/EWE/AWS certifications are a plus).
  • Knowledge of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) (certifications preferred).
  • Familiarity with Field Joint Coating (FJC) systems (NACE/AMPP certifications are a plus).
  • Ability to oversee and support qualification activities across welding, NDE, and coating.
  • Strong capability to read, interpret, and develop technical procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Teamcenter, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
