Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic LG 19 position involves the installation, repair, maintenance, and servicing of plant electrical circuits and equipment. The role requires extensive knowledge of machinery and the ability to work independently while ensuring safety and efficiency in maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Layout, plan and perform test equipment installation and equipment repairs.
- Locate causes of malfunctions or breakdowns in machinery and equipment.
- Repair any other plant machines and equipment as assigned.
- Determine repair or reconditioning required and parts replacement.
- Perform pipe bending, fitting, welding, tube bending and flairing.
- Build and erect special plant or experimental machines and equipment.
- Assemble special machines to blueprint or engineering instructions.
- Perform arc and/or acetylene welding, cutting and brazing.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on compressors and associated equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, vocational training, or 10+ years practical experience.
- Extensive knowledge of machinery function and operation.
- Basic knowledge of machines, mechanisms, and mechanics.
- Knowledge of industrial pipe fitting.
- Ability to perform arc and gas acetylene welding.
- Ability to work with assembly or installation blueprints.
- Good knowledge of maintenance parts and materials.
- Knowledge of safe rigging to lift and move heavy equipment.
- Punctual, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
