NYU Langone Health is a leading health system recognized for its quality patient outcomes and comprehensive medical services. The Plumber Mechanic role involves performing plumbing duties, including installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing and gas systems.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain steam and gas systems and plumbing systems of the plant.
  • Inspect connections and parts of the system for leaks.
  • Replace defective pipes by cutting, bending, threading, and assembling.
  • Solder, braze, and caulk leaks and broken pipes.
  • Open clogged drains using plumbing tools.
  • Repair or replace damaged plumbing fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and install steam systems and connections.
  • Maintain plumbing natural and medical gas systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair medical gas outlets.
  • Operate various plumbing tools and machinery.
  • Maintain job completion records and submit work orders.
  • Estimate materials needed and record time on work orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Five years of experience in plumbing.
  • Trade or vocational school graduation reduces experience requirement to four years.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
