Overview

The Shaw Group is building a pipeline of qualified candidates for future Combo Welder positions, with day and night shifts available. This role is crucial for ensuring the integrity and performance of industrial fabrication solutions in energy and EPC markets.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality welds that meet engineering specifications and industry standards.
• Perform multi process pipe welding; GTAW, SMAW and Flux Core Arc in various positions.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment to required specifications.
• Guide electrode or welding gun to achieve proper fusion and bead profile.
• Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, grooving, or preheating as required.
• Assemble, align, and tack components using fixtures or positioning equipment.
• Inspect and finish welds by removing slag, spatter, and excess material.
• Complete required performance tests to meet certification standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick) and Flux Core welding processes.
• Ability to interpret weld quality using visual indicators and sound.
• Experience working safely in industrial or fabrication shop environments.
• Capability to read and follow welding procedures and technical instructions.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
