The Assembler I - Sheet Metal Worker role involves assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal products and requires a collaborative and responsible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Assembles units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job order.
• Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders.
• Lays and attaches metal or wood flooring and/or covering.
• Applies primer, paint, and caulk as needed.
• Performs close up requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
