Overview

BBA is seeking a Junior Civil/Structural Engineer to join their growing U.S. team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to build technical expertise in civil infrastructure and structural design across various sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Support the civil and structural design of industrial and infrastructure projects from preliminary studies through detailed engineering.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design memoranda, and construction documentation.
  • Assist with the design of civil infrastructure systems including site development, drainage, utility layouts, and access infrastructure.
  • Support the structural design of concrete foundations, steel and reinforced concrete structures, equipment support structures, pipe racks, platforms, and building structural components.
  • Assist in structural analysis and preparation of design calculations in accordance with applicable U.S. codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, process, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, technical specifications, material requisitions, and construction packages.
  • Review and coordinate engineering deliverables prepared by designers and drafters.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and technical coordination.
  • Support construction activities through site visits, field reviews, and responding to technical queries.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
  • Contribute to engineering quality, continuous improvement, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation or eligibility for registration in the applicable U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
  • Experience in industrial, mining, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with structural design codes and engineering standards applicable in North America.
  • Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Availability for occasional travel to project sites.
