Overview

As an Orbital Tube Welder at Impulse, you will be responsible for the precision assembly, welding, inspection, and documentation of high-reliability orbital welds used in space flight hardware. This hands-on role is critical to delivering flight-worthy hardware on aggressive timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and procedures for flight and development hardware.
  • Setup, maintain and operate the orbital welding system to produce high quality orbital welds.
  • Document build steps, nonconformances, and test results in manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardware.
  • Work closely with engineers, quality, and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Support rework, repair, and root-cause investigations as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 1+ year of orbital welding, machining or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specifications.
  • Proficient with hand tools, torque tools, and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches).
