Overview

Archer Mechanical specializes in sustainable mechanical and plumbing systems, providing a range of services including design-build and preventative maintenance. They are seeking TIG and MIG welders to ensure quality and productivity in fabrication projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high level of attention to safety, quality, and productivity in the welding/fabrication area.
  • Perform pipe fitting and welding activities, grinding, cutting, flame cutting, plasma cutting, while completing welded piping systems.
  • Perform fitting and welding on required structural and support systems essential for piping systems.
  • Operate shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Process materials following work orders and shop drawings with accuracy.
  • Prepare and process all necessary paperwork for order completion.
  • Adhere to schedules and ensure on-time shipment of orders.
  • Properly stack processed materials and pack them for shipping.
  • Fabricate, weld, and assemble.
  • Actively maintain and improve the work environment, safety, and health standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to TIG and MIG weld on pipe.
  • Experience with GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes.
  • Must complete and pass a 6G GTAW XXH wall pipe test using ER70S-6 filler.
  • Also, a 6” XXH (in the rolled position) using RMD process with E70C-6M Metal cored wire, and/or GMAW root pass with FCAW fill and cap.
  • Basic knowledge of ASME standards.
  • Production welds will be subject to 5% Xray.
  • Familiarity with pipe rotating, or positioner equipment.
  • Good knowledge of shop safety practices.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Knowledge of pipe trade tools such as pipe wraps, center finders, and two-hole pins.
  • Knowledge of 5S/Lean principles is a plus.

What you'll be running
