Overview

RMS is seeking a Field Service Welder to perform various welding and fabrication operations on rotating equipment components, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards. This role involves supporting production activities through various welding techniques and promoting safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication operations on rotating equipment components.
• Support production activities through MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Fabricate centrifugal compressor impellers using slot and traditional fillet welding.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds and utilize grinding techniques.
• Set up positioners, thermal blankets, and induction heaters for pre-work.
• Track usage of consumables like burrs and torch tips.
• Conduct repairs on stationary and rotating components in turbomachinery.
• Inspect and record measurements of component parts to specifications.
• Notify Quality and Production Leadership of non-conformities.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety policies.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED required; post high school degree in welding is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience related to compressor or turbine components.
• Proficiency in TIG welding and familiarity with ARC welding preferred.
• Ability to perform PWHT setup preferred.
• Expertise in manual GTAW welding; familiarity with automatic welding is a plus.
• Ability to SAW using in-house automatic machine.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer and math skills.

Additional Information

• Position may be based in RMS’s Perris, CA facility.
• Requires up to 50% travel, including domestic and international.
• Full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
• Participation in random or customer-specific drug and alcohol screening may be required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
