Overview

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products in North America, seeking a motivated and experienced production welder for their night shift team. The role involves engaging in MIG welding processes on various structural steel components while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in full scope of MIG weld processes on structural steel.
  • Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow.
  • Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
  • Decide on adjustments or gun manipulations as needed.
  • Make repairs for pin holes and burn through caused by auto welder.
  • Train and teach proper welding procedures.
  • Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
  • Maintain specified bead shape, size, and penetration.
  • Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences correct.
  • Maintain continuous improvement practices in work area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of one year of experience welding in a production environment or valid welding certification.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification.
  • Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation is a plus.
  • Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools.
  • Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane.
  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments.
