Overview

The Pipe Welder III position involves performing pipe welding using various processes and materials, along with pipe fitting for multiple welders on modular systems. The role requires experience and the ability to lead a small team while ensuring high-quality welding standards.

Responsibilities

• Consistently weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys using multiple processes and procedures in various positions.
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits including working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure them to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Pass internal destructive and non-destructive examinations of various welds.
• Lead a team of 1-3 team members on a project or job.
• Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts for welding.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the attendance policy.
• Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner following established safety and company requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is strongly preferred.
• Certification or degree in welding from a technical school program is strongly preferred.
• Two to five years of GTAW pipe welding experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass Roeslein’s 6G GTAW visual and bend certification is required.
• Must be able to consistently execute high quality RMD, GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welds.
• Advanced ability to read blue prints, ISO’s and other technical documents is required.
• Meets all Pipe Welder II requirements on a consistent basis.
• Strong math skills are required.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required.
• High level of energy and motivation.
• Ability to work flexible hours including frequent and mandatory overtime and weekends is required.
• Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel in a team environment.
