Job Description
Overview
The Welder 2nd Class position requires proficiency in GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes in flat and horizontal positions. The role involves various welding tasks, operation of equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW fillet pressure part welding.
- Perform fillet and partial penetration groove welds on various product forms using GMAW, GTAW, and/or FCAW processes.
- Operate overhead cranes and other powered material handling equipment.
- Operate powered hand tools and other hand tools.
- Perform manual material handling tasks.
- Perform administrative tasks such as stenciling of parts and filing.
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
- Maintain regular, prompt attendance on scheduled workdays.
- Work overtime as specified by management.
- Communicate effectively.
- Perform basic measurements of materials.
- Perform any reasonable task or assignment as specified by management.
- Perform all tasks and assignments in a safe manner.
Requirements
- Welding experience required.
- Ability to start, operate, troubleshoot, and stop industrial welding equipment.
- Capable of reading and understanding basic blueprints.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, minimum of 4 hours.
- Willing and capable of working varied shifts/overtime according to production demands.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Knowledge and ability to operate powered hand tools and other hand tools.
- Capable of wearing ANSI approved safety shoes, safety glasses, and other approved personal protective equipment.
- Knowledge and ability to perform tasks in a safe manner.
