Overview

At Blue Origin, we are developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. As an Aerospace Welder, you will be part of a team responsible for welding exotic metals for aerospace components in a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Manual welding aerospace stainless steel and Inconel hardware using manual equipment.
  • Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
  • Support and prepare parts for post-weld inspection processes such as dye penetrant, X-ray, and chemical treatments.
  • Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly.
  • Communicate with engineers on design concepts, offering suggestions for improvements.
  • Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.
  • Review, edit, and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly work.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of metals including stainless steels, aluminum, and Inconel alloys.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment.
  • Familiarity with the use of personal computers.

  • Shifts: A Shift (Mon-Thu 5:00am - 3:30pm), B Shift (Mon-Thu 3:00pm - 1:30am), C Shift (Fri-Sun 5:00am - 5:30pm), D Shift (Fri-Sun 5:00pm - 5:30am).
  • Interviews will include a technical welding assessment.
