Overview

John Zink is hiring a Field Service Engineer in the Fired Equipment Group to support customers across various industries, focusing on the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial fired equipment critical to safe operations.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer facilities to support installation, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of fired equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on combustion systems.
  • Provide technical expertise on register burners, duct burners, and utility burners.
  • Lead with safety in field execution and identify risks in industrial environments.
  • Interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and system layouts to implement solutions.
  • Support instrumentation and controls systems for operation and troubleshooting.
  • Calibrate, test, and maintain field instrumentation to support system performance.
  • Build strong relationships with customer operations and maintenance teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including service reports and updates.

Requirements

  • Experience troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining industrial electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with PLC-based control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75%.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC within six weeks.
