Overview

Labconco Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of laboratory equipment, is seeking an experienced Welder to perform MIG and TIG welding on 10-16G cold rolled and stainless steel.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run all welding equipment on production lines or in the metal fabrication shop without assistance.
  • Determine sequence of operations by studying engineering blueprints including weld symbols and specifications.
  • Accurately use all measuring devices in the shop.
  • Produce quality welds and perform subsequent weld cleaning or finishing on various thicknesses and joint designs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Completion of welding certification or 2+ years of previous welding experience with cold rolled, stainless steel, and aluminum preferred.
  • MUST be able to set up and operate welding equipment.
  • Ability to understand product flow while maintaining the production of quality products.
  • Be highly motivated with a strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to be flexible and handle pressure in a professional manner.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
