Overview

The Welder position involves setting up and operating welding equipment to meet quality and productivity standards. The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and performing various assembly duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate welding equipment as required by drawings.
  • Weld parts using electric arc or automatic wire feed processes.
  • Ensure soundness of weld joints while maintaining proper dimensions.
  • Undergo inspections such as radiography and dye penetrant tests.
  • Read blueprints and handle materials and tools.
  • Inspect parts or completed units using various inspection equipment.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Perform assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
  • Store all company supplied tools in proper storage cabinets daily.
  • Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required.
  • Conduct rope winding as necessary.
  • Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Perform all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.

Requirements

  • Sherman & Reilly Weld Certification and AWS Specification D1.1. 94 and D1.3 89.
  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to present information effectively in small group situations.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving root cause and corrective action analysis.
