Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic position is a 2nd shift role focused on troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment and building facilities. The role requires a blend of electrical and mechanical skills to ensure the efficient operation of plant machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and facilities.
  • Complete preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
  • Perform duties safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Control downtime by completing repairs and part replacements promptly.
  • Fabricate repair parts by machining items to specifications.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information to production workers.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through educational workshops.
  • Comply with procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Contribute to team efforts by performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of management and staff.
  • Minimum three to five years of related maintenance experience.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, AC drives, VFDs, and PLCs.
  • Proficient electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

  • This is a union position with benefits provided by the union after a 90-day probationary period.
  • Pay rate will be determined by a skills assessment.
