Overview

Join Penn Terminals LLC and become part of a team dedicated to moving global trade efficiently and safely. The Maintenance & Repair Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of heavy equipment used in a busy shipping terminal.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel-powered terminal equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems.
  • Inspect equipment for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and safety-related deficiencies.
  • Perform scheduled service, lubrication, fluid changes, filter replacement, adjustments, and component replacement.
  • Diagnose equipment problems using service manuals and diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective components to manufacturer specifications.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform timely field repairs.
  • Conduct operational and safety checks following repairs.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with terminal operations and other maintenance personnel.
  • Follow OSHA and terminal safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Participate in equipment inspections and preventive-maintenance programs.

Requirements

  • Diesel or heavy-equipment technician certification.
  • Experience with container-handling equipment, cranes, yard tractors, or forklifts.
  • Formal training in diesel technology, hydraulics, pneumatics, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with electronic engine and equipment diagnostics.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
