Overview
The Production Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks in a fast-paced shop environment, requiring proficiency in multiple welding processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings while adhering to industry codes and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute various welding techniques, including Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG).
- Weld a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys.
- Fit, tack, and weld complex assemblies according to detailed specifications.
- Read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, deburring, and positioning components.
- Inspect finished welds to ensure they meet quality standards and code specifications.
- Adhere to all company and OSHA safety policies, including the use of PPE.
- Identify and correct welding defects and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency while ensuring quality.
- Complete required production logs and time sheets accurately.
- Work effectively with fitters, fabricators, and the shop management team.
