Overview

As a Senior Welder at Caterpillar Inc., you will play a critical role in supporting product development and testing efforts by performing advanced welding, cutting, brazing, machining, and fabrication work on heavy equipment and custom projects. This hands-on position requires expertise to ensure safety and reliability in engineering validation and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform layout and development work and welding functions to fabricate and repair parts and assemblies.
  • Conduct salvage and repair work on prime products and facility equipment.
  • Execute brazing, MIG, TIG, stick, and wire feed welding on various materials.
  • Diagnose welding equipment problems using skills and experience.
  • Communicate welding repair problems and solutions through reports.
  • Train others on basic welding skills and reading engineering drawings.
  • Work with minimum supervision to perform all jobs.
  • Operate maintenance support machines and various machine models.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in welding, fabrication, machining, and metalworking processes.
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving welding equipment and machinery issues.
  • Proven ability to evaluate complex repair and fabrication requirements.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information and repair recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and manufacturing processes.
  • Welder certifications.
  • 5 years of experience in the repair, maintenance, and fabrication of construction equipment.

What you'll be running
