Overview

The Repair Shop Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating shop activities related to the inspection, repair, refurbishment, and testing of cryogenic cargo tanks, trailers, and related pressure vessels. The role requires strong experience with DOT-regulated semi-tractors and trailers, and while prior cryogenic experience is not necessary, training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate daily shop activities for cryogenic trailer and tank repairs.
  • Assign work orders, monitor progress, and adjust priorities to maintain schedule adherence.
  • Ensure repair and fabrication work complies with approved procedures and specifications.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and readiness for audits or inspections.
  • Support Operations Manager with capacity planning and material needs.
  • Enforce all safety standards within the work area.
  • Lead daily safety briefings and job hazard analyses.
  • Ensure technicians use required PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Report and investigate any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure repairs meet quality standards.
  • Verify documentation accuracy for weld logs and inspection forms.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Supervise welders, fitters, mechanics, and helpers, providing clear direction.
  • Conduct hands-on training in welding procedures and inspection methods.
  • Evaluate individual performance and provide coaching as needed.
  • Manage daily workflow to ensure timely completion of repairs and inspections.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and collaborate to improve efficiency.
  • Support customer visits and inspections, providing updates on job status.
  • Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Strong experience inspecting and repairing DOT-regulated semi-tractors and trailers.
  • Ability to work in field environments and represent the company professionally.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, CGA, and ASME standards.
  • Experience in supervising a team of welders and technicians.
  • Skills in training employees on welding and inspection methods.

Additional Information

  • This is an onsite position based at 5435 West Mohave Street, Phoenix, Arizona 8504.
  • Occasional travel may be required on an as-needed basis.
