Overview

The Welder/Fabricator position at IES Infrastructure Solutions involves fabricating and welding steel structures and components according to customer specifications. The role is based in Manitowoc, WI, and includes responsibilities such as fitting, training, and supporting team leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Read weld symbols and correctly fit parts from blueprints.
  • Support team leaders by monitoring and reporting information necessary regarding projects, processes, and problems.
  • May assist with the estimation process by providing input on processes and labor requirements.
  • Participate in customer or potential customer visits.
  • Use blueprints, tape measure, and mathematical skills.
  • Inspect part prior to fit and ensure proper alignment.
  • Ensure orientation of part is correct.
  • Visually inspect part prior to fitting to ensure proper conformance.
  • Visually inspect joint for cleanliness and depth.
  • Fit parts while keeping within specification.
  • Weld flat and horizontal GMAW.
  • Weld flat horizontal and vertical flux core.
  • Clean part after welding.
  • Operate overhead crane; properly inspect rigging equipment and use proper rigging technique.
  • Complete operator sign-off.
  • Record job and section in time matrix.
  • Follow all EHS policies in order to work safely; fully engage in behavioral based safety initiatives.
  • Support all continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll be running
