Overview

Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm with offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, primarily serving the private sector. The Carpenter role involves constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures using various tools.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, metal, and wallboard.
  • Work with and install doors, hardware, trim, cabinetry, ceiling materials, and millwork.
  • Build rough wooden structures according to sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions.
  • Examine specifications to determine dimensions of structures and measure materials using various tools.
  • Saw boards and plywood panels to required sizes.
  • Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts.
  • Build framework to strengthen, protect, or disguise buildings under construction.
  • Erect scaffolding for buildings and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
  • Install rough frames and brace them with boards nailed to framework.
  • Install subflooring in buildings and weld parts to steel structural members.
