Overview

The Welder A position involves performing various types of welding operations on standard and customized product weldments from prefabricated sheet metal components. This full-time role requires interpreting shop records and drawings to ensure quality and efficiency in welding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding operations based on interpreting shop records and drawings.
  • Assemble and measure details from shop drawings and sketches.
  • Manipulate welding gun and lay proper fill or bead to meet pressure testing requirements.
  • Follow quality control standards to ensure quality and quantity requirements.
  • Obtain first piece inspection approval and periodically inspect work for quality.
  • Perform grinding operations to dress the appearance of weldments.
  • Use hand truck, lift truck, lift hoist, or overhead crane to move materials.
  • Perform daily lift truck inspections.
  • Read and accurately interpret measuring devices.
  • Act as authorized employee for the lock out/tag out program.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years work experience.
  • Meet production quantity requirements.
  • Possess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Successful participation in training events.
  • Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • Possess basic math skills.
  • Possess basic organizational skills.

  • Schedule: M-F 6:00am-2:30pm or M-Thurs 1:00pm-11:30pm.
