Overview

This position is for a TIG Welder specializing in stainless steel and aluminum, focusing on thin-gauge materials. The role involves various welding techniques and requires proficiency in operating welding equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure for conformance with specifications.
  • Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
  • Weld using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts for welding.
  • Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to specifications.
  • Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs to complete circuits.
  • Connect and turn regulator valves to adjust gas flow and pressure.
  • Determine required equipment and welding methods based on metallurgy and geometry.
  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid material distortion.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for metal fusion.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for planning.
  • Mark or tag material with job numbers and identifying marks as required.

What you'll be running
