Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carman Welder Mechanic to join our team in Youngwood, PA. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining and repairing our railcar fleet, ensuring safety and efficiency in our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks on railcars, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in railcar systems, including brakes, couplers, and wheels.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of railcars.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the facility.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding or mechanics preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder and mechanic, preferably in a rail or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
