Overview

American Bin and Conveyor is seeking a motivated Saw Operator / Fabrication Material Coordinator to join their fabrication team. This hands-on manufacturing role involves working with steel and requires strong organizational skills and a safety-minded approach.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and cut steel using vertical and horizontal band saws
  • Read cut lists, work instructions, and basic fabrication drawings
  • Organize, prepare, and stage materials for welders and fabricators
  • Build complete material kits for upcoming production
  • Think ahead and anticipate material needs
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Properly rig loads and determine center of gravity for safe, balanced lifts
  • Assist with other fabrication processes as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16"
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan ahead and manage changing priorities
  • Safety-focused approach to working with steel and industrial equipment
  • Ability to safely operate an overhead crane
  • Understanding of proper rigging, load balance, and center of gravity
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Dependable team player who can also work independently
  • Successfully complete the pre-hire physical, drug screen and background check
  • Manufacturing, fabrication, saw, crane, rigging, forklift, or material handling experience is a plus
