Overview

The Maintenance Technician position at Closure Systems International, Inc. involves ensuring the safety and functionality of manufacturing and support equipment through troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety for self and team members.
  • Communicate frequently with production supervisors and team members regarding machine repair needs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all manufacturing, support equipment, and automation systems.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot/repair auxiliary infrastructure systems such as compressed air, cooling water, vacuum, and carton systems.
  • Identify, determine, and rebuild components such as pumps, valves, and vacuum systems for reuse.
  • Fabricate machine parts using maintenance shop tools.
  • Perform project work for installation of equipment and repairs/improvements to building infrastructure.
  • Support and collaborate with electricians for electrical/electronic controls repairs.
  • Set up inspection cameras using quality control guidelines.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to increase operational effectiveness.
  • Perform preventive and corrective work on support equipment as directed.
  • Document all changes made to equipment properly.
  • Continuously train and learn new subject areas to improve skills.
  • Train team members on equipment maintenance practices and safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Complete pre-employment mechanical aptitude test.
  • Complete in-house CEW training within 1 year of hire date.
  • Demonstrated safety-first focus.
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance or similar experience required.
  • Prior plastics experience desirable, specifically with compression molding equipment.
  • Must have tools required for industrial maintenance, excluding specialty and power tools.
  • Self-motivated and accountable with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work at heights and pass fall protection training.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various positions throughout the shift.
  • Cross-functionally trained in mechanical and electrical areas with 5+ years of industrial maintenance.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and plastic processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of utility system components including compressed air, cooling water, and vacuum systems.
  • Knowledge of plant electrical systems and NFPA 70e qualifications.
  • Knowledge of PLC controls/electronics for automation equipment.
  • Qualification to use maintenance shop tools for fabrication including vertical mill/drill presses and MIG/TIG welders.
  • Vocational education or training in machine repair, industrial electricity, or equivalent programs.

Additional Information

  • Shift: D Crew (nights) 12 hour shifts.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
