Overview

At Alpha Transport, a leading petroleum transporter in the Western U.S., we are seeking an experienced Tank Fabricator to join our maintenance team. The Tank Fabricator will be responsible for the fabrication, repair, modification, and welding of petroleum tanks, trailers, and related equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, repair, modify, and rebuild petroleum tanks, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work according to job specifications, safety requirements, and applicable industry standards.
  • Cut, fit, form, assemble, and weld components used in tank and trailer repairs and fabrication.
  • Measure, lay out, and prepare materials for fabrication projects.
  • Perform major and minor structural repairs on tanks, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Inspect fabricated components and completed welds to ensure quality, proper fit, and workmanship.
  • Diagnose damaged or worn tank and trailer components and determine appropriate fabrication or repair methods.
  • Perform modifications and repairs necessary to maintain the safe operation of tanks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Ensure tanks, trailers, and equipment are safe for transport and meet applicable Federal DOT cargo tank standards and regulations.
  • Properly operate welding, cutting, grinding, fabrication, and shop equipment.
  • Follow established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Properly care for tools, welding equipment, and fabrication equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with mechanics, maintenance personnel, drivers, and leadership to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
