Overview

Mohave County Public Works-Equipment Maintenance/Fleet Services Division is seeking a Welder Senior to maintain and repair County vehicles and equipment to OEM standards or better, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for all Mohave County Divisions and personnel.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies and fabricates parts and assemblies for heavy duty trucks and equipment using various welding techniques.
• Lays out, cuts, forms, forges, tempers, welds, grinds and fits iron and steel raw stock to make parts and tools.
• Repairs or fabricates heavy equipment parts subject to wear or breakage.
• Utilizes blueprints and diagrams to plan and complete work tasks.
• Estimates material quantities and selects appropriate materials for tasks.
• Repairs construction hand tools and fabricates special tools and equipment.
• Repairs and fabricates a variety of steel structures and components.
• Brazes or solders copper and brass materials.
• Machines parts and repairs castings and malleable materials.
• Assists other welders and provides guidance and instruction.
• Provides functional supervision in the absence of a supervisor.
• Commutes to locations for servicing and repair assistance.
• Maintains daily work records and an adequate supply of materials.
• Cleans and maintains tools and work area.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED.
• Five years successful experience in welding and fabricating.
• Experience with heavy duty combination welding of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and safety precautions.
• Ability to communicate and maintain professionalism.
• Physical ability to lift 20-50 pounds and work in various conditions.

Additional Information

• Location: 3715 Sunshine Drive, Kingman, AZ.
• Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.
• Tools are to be provided and maintained at the employee's cost.
• Must pass drug screen post offer.
• Will be required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class B with Tanker endorsement within six months of hire.
• Work may be subject to call-back, on-call status, and overtime.
