Overview

The Welder position at WM involves fabricating and repairing compactors, containers, and carts under general supervision. The role offers stability and growth opportunities, with a commitment to employee development and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Performs minor repairs and applies basic welding processes.
  • Repairs compactors, containers, and carts.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and repairs of electrical and hydraulic systems on compactors.
  • Qualified in welding processes such as arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering.
  • Conducts safety checks on compactors and containers.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software.
  • Assists senior welders in project work.
  • Performs service calls for compactor repair.
  • Performs flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, and notching of metal and plastic parts.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.

Requirements

  • 1 year of previous experience.
  • Stick Welding experience.
  • Recent Technical School graduate preferred.

Additional Information

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00am start time. OT as needed. Occasional Saturdays.
  • This role is designated as safety sensitive and will require compliance with safety rules and protocols.
