Overview

The Welder position at Regal Rexnord involves performing setup on various welding components, requiring a high degree of skill and technique. This fully onsite role includes responsibilities such as tig and mig welding, machine operation, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Tig welding 90% and mig welding 10% using multiple types of materials.
  • Properly set up welding machines.
  • Preparation before welding consists of ripping and trimming various specs of wire belts.
  • Clean welds to check for imperfections.
  • Ensure accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, and inspection requirements.
  • Accurate interpretation of work orders and collaboration with co-workers and QA associates.
  • Work within the parameters of an estimate and work order.
  • Wire crimping and machine operating.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively in small groups.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to use measurement tools such as a tape measure and occasionally a dial caliper.
  • Attention to all safety policies, programs, and practices.
  • Basic computer skills for reviewing and performing shop orders.

Additional Information

  • This position works in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Day Shift: Tuesday - Friday (5:00am - 3:30 pm) with Mondays off.
  • First 30 days training schedule: Monday - Thursday (5:00am - 3:30 pm) with Fridays off.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
