Overview

The Welder I position involves performing welding tasks using a dispatch list while ensuring high productivity, cost-effectiveness, and quality with minimal supervision. The role includes working from electronic drawings, TIG and MIG welding, and supporting process improvements in compliance with ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding using a dispatch list for sequence of orders.
  • Inspect welds based on drawings, verbal instructions, and specifications.
  • Work from electronic drawings and electronic JOLs to weld and inspect product.
  • Debur parts using a sander or debur machine.
  • TIG weld stainless steel material to meet production and quality standards.
  • MIG weld mild material.
  • Weld all products within assigned Cell.
  • Perform daily cycle count.
  • Strive for product and process improvements that meet customer requirements.
  • Support Lean activities including Kaizen Events and 5S.
  • Keep supervisor and Cell Lead informed of job-related problems.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere through respectful communication.
  • Ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Ensure all processes are safe and comply with OSHA requirements.
  • Report all safety concerns to Lead, Supervisor, or Safety Committee Member.
  • Operate computer, tablet, and other electronic devices.
  • Lift, push, and pull moderate weights.
  • Perform related work as apparent or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Completion of two-year (18 month) welder trade program.
  • Two years related experience.
  • Must be able to pass written and visually demonstrate welding capabilities.
  • Ability to read weld prints.
  • Basic computer knowledge such as ability to operate a computer, tablet, and other electronic software.
