Overview

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position that serves as a journey-level mechanic responsible for inspecting, machining, welding, and repairing aircraft parts and components. ARTs maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit and receive military training on average one weekend per month.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, overhauls, machines and repairs various types and sizes of industrial plant/facilities equipment.
  • Performs complex, intricate, specialized or nonstandard machining and various welding assignments.
  • Plans, develops, writes and/or updates complex coded source programs in one or two designated computer command languages.
  • Ensures compliance and practice of security directives, good safety, and health habits in all work areas.
  • Controls tools and certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program.
