Overview

Machina Labs is revolutionizing manufacturing by building intelligent, software-defined factories that produce complex metal structures from digital designs. The Welding Manufacturing Engineer will apply advanced engineering principles to improve welding systems and manufacturing processes, collaborating with various teams to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize welding processes, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
  • Evaluate manufacturability, welding performance, structural integrity, quality, cost, and production efficiency.
  • Develop, validate, and implement welding processes for complex metallic assemblies.
  • Identify manufacturing risks and develop technical solutions to improve product quality.
  • Lead the design and qualification of weld tooling and production equipment.
  • Create and maintain welding procedures and engineering documentation.
  • Analyze production data and manufacturing metrics for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause investigations of manufacturing and weld quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Product Design Engineering for Design for Manufacturability recommendations.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and capital improvements.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and production planning activities.
  • Support qualification testing, process validation, and engineering change implementation.
  • Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for manufacturability.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance regarding welding processes.
