Overview

Machina Labs is revolutionizing manufacturing by creating intelligent, software-defined factories that produce complex metal structures from digital designs. The Welder/Fitter will be responsible for precision fabrication and welding of metallic components, requiring strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Perform precision layout, measurement, cutting, forming, fitting, tack welding, and welding of components.
  • Fit and align components using fixtures and fabrication equipment.
  • Fabricate components from various materials including sheet metal and structural members.
  • Perform welding operations according to approved procedures and specifications.
  • Work with materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
  • Set up and properly use welding equipment and tools.
  • Use precision measurement and inspection equipment to verify accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and contamination controls during fabrication.
  • Inspect work for quality and conformance to engineering requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve challenges.
  • Support first-article builds and new product introductions.
  • Contribute to the improvement of welding and fabrication processes.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Assist with training and knowledge transfer to team members.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in welding, fitting, or fabrication.
  • Strong hands-on fabrication and mechanical assembly skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using welding equipment and precision measurement instruments.
  • Ability to work within tight dimensional and fit-up requirements.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and welding fundamentals.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
