Overview

Airgas is seeking a Compressor Technical Specialist in Dallas, TX, to provide hands-on support to the compressor maintenance department. This role involves executing scheduled maintenance, assembling new compressor builds, managing spare parts inventory, and conducting on-site training, contributing to organizational growth and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on industrial compressors.
  • Build, assemble, and commission new compressor units according to engineering design specifications.
  • Monitor compressor operational efficiencies and perform real-time troubleshooting at plant facilities.
  • Provide technical support during plant construction phases and handle special project requests.
  • Test, evaluate, and verify new technologies or components for compressor systems.
  • Provide structured technical project management data to support R&D and engineering initiatives.
  • Draft, modify, and review process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for compliance.
  • Identify, document, and communicate process or profit improvement areas to leadership.
  • Manage local and regional inventory systems for critical spare parts and maintenance tooling.
  • Deploy best operating practices for regional cylinder fill operations during field visits.
  • Deliver on-site technical training to plant personnel regarding safe compressor operation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of dedicated maintenance-based mechanical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD platforms and basic computer skills.
  • Strong capability with Google Suite applications.
