Overview

The Commercial Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining various machinery and mechanical equipment, including conveyor systems, HVAC equipment, and general facility upkeep. This role requires a minimum of three years of experience in industrial or building maintenance and involves performing both routine and preventative maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Observe mechanical devices to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
• Examine parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspect used parts for changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts and install special parts.
• Lubricate and clean parts.
• Start devices to test their performance.
• Perform general maintenance tasks such as plumbing and carpentry.
• Conduct preventative maintenance activities like coil cleaning and filter changes.

Requirements

• Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
• A technical degree in Industrial Maintenance is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of three years experience in the Industrial or Building maintenance field.
• Experience in supervision, planning/scheduling, and estimating is preferred.
• Basic general computer skills are helpful.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
