Overview

Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging, supporting various industries. The Set-Up Mechanic position in Conyers, Georgia, involves conducting mechanical changeovers and troubleshooting machine malfunctions to ensure quality production.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all mechanical changeovers including line set-ups and mold changes.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventive maintenance.
  • Assemble, clean, repair, and reassemble tooling as needed.
  • Manage storage and organization of tooling.
  • Support changeover time reduction efforts.
  • Maintain tool cleaning systems.
  • Perform mold preventive maintenance schedules as assigned.
  • Clean and inspect molds periodically.
  • Document and record the history of specific molds.
  • Identify modifications to address downtime issues.
  • Train and oversee associates on changeovers and machine set-up.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized.
  • Specification and procurement of spare parts.
  • Assist in process technician responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Skilled Machinist experience in a high precision machine shop/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Computer literacy in Desktop Applications.
  • Ability to execute close tolerance fabrication and machine set-up.
  • Skilled in using precision measurement and setup devices.
  • Competent in working with computerized machine controls.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and/or general maintenance knowledge preferred.
  • Injection molding and/or plastics industry experience preferred.
  • Experience operating cranes, forklifts, and handling heavy molds preferred.

  • Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required.
