Overview

Clorox is seeking a qualified Mechanical Technician for their Atlanta West facility to maintain and troubleshoot automated packaging equipment. The role emphasizes safety, technical proficiency, and effective communication to ensure reliable manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Clorox Plant safety rules.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs).
  • Ensure stock of critical spares.
  • Execute work orders.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment.
  • Troubleshoot motor and motor control problems.
  • Utilize computer software for various tasks.
  • Clean work area after each job.
  • Read and update technical manuals and drawings.
  • Perform pipe fitting and use various tools.
  • Identify and install parts of automated packaging equipment.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Respond appropriately to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate self-motivated work behavior.
  • Report to the department when unable to come to work.

Requirements

  • Industrial maintenance work experience of at least 5 years.
  • Successful completion of a two-year college curriculum in technical areas or vocational school certificates.
  • Proficiency in maintaining, troubleshooting, analyzing, and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, and servo motors.
  • Ability to repair machinery using drawings and manuals.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Understanding of shaft alignment techniques and tools.
  • Ability to maintain mechanical drive systems and lubrication.
  • Pipe fitting skills.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drive operations and motor control circuits.
  • Proficiency in following ladder logic for troubleshooting.
