Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Technician role involves performing mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment installations at a recycling plant, focusing on recycling and mining equipment. The position emphasizes ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of industrial machinery and conveyor systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on recycling and mining equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery, including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
  • Conduct conveyor changes and perform ongoing conveyor maintenance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on industrial equipment.
  • Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Use stick welding, air arc, and oxy-acetylene torch techniques for repairs.
  • Inspect and service gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical components.
  • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems for repairs and adjustments.
  • Operate equipment such as skid steers, high-reach lifts, and forklifts.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or at least 10 years of welding experience.
  • Experience working in an industrial manufacturing plant environment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical repair of motors, gearboxes, bearings, and conveyors.
  • Strong stick welding skills for structural and repair welds.
  • Experience using air arc and oxy-acetylene torch for cutting and gouging.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Comfort operating skid steers, high-reach lifts, and forklifts.
  • Capability to work in a role that is approximately 60% mechanical and 40% welding.
  • Ability to work safely in an outdoor industrial environment.

Additional Information

  • The position is based at an outdoor recycling plant.
  • Typical schedule runs Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 a.m. until around 5:00 p.m.
  • Team members work about three Saturdays per month and a few Sundays per quarter.
  • This is a fully onsite position in Orlando, FL.
