Job Description

Overview

As a Field Service Technician II at Adaptec Solutions, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing automation and material handling systems in various client environments. This hands-on role requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment while ensuring high standards of safety and customer communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electro-mechanical material handling equipment.
  • Respond to emergency calls within territory on a 24/7 basis.
  • Perform mechanical work including fabricating, stick welding, and painting.
  • Carry out maintenance on machinery at client sites as scheduled.
  • Use a multi-meter to check fuses and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Document all work performed in the E-360 reporting system.
  • Communicate machine issues and repair needs effectively with clients and leadership.
  • Work independently while knowing when to escalate issues.

Requirements

  • HSD/GED or equivalent is required; vocational or technical school degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years of troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Must possess a foundational understanding of MIG/TIG/Stick welding.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Position is road/client based with most travel within home territory.
  • Technicians are scheduled on weekend rotations.

What you'll be running

TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
