Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for planning and performing maintenance and repair operations to ensure that plant property, equipment, machinery, and tools are in good operating condition. This role requires diagnosing problems and performing varied maintenance tasks, including the installation of automatic electrical and electronic controls.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a complete range of maintenance duties using technical electronic diagnostics and precision instruments.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions by observing machinery and equipment.
  • Start and operate equipment to verify correction of malfunctions.
  • Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as part of preventive maintenance.
  • Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment and components.
  • Adjust mechanisms such as feed, speed, and power input or output.
  • Operate various mechanical and electronic test equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of pumps, conveyor systems, motors, and drives.
  • Attend classes to remain current in technical changes or equipment designs.
  • Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Adhere to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps required.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors required.
  • Experience reading blueprints required.
  • Three or more years of experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy equipment required.
  • Experience with fabrication, cutting with a torch, and welding with an arc welder required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics systems preferred.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.
  • Experience performing lubrication preventative maintenance preferred.
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value to the team.
  • Willingness and ability to cross-train to learn new jobs and skills.
  • Consistent, predictable attendance.
