Overview

We are a Houston-based property management and construction company looking for a skilled, hands-on Welder / Gate Fabricator & Multi-Trade Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate can fabricate and install steel gates, fencing, railings, and other metal projects, while also being capable of handling general construction and apartment maintenance work when fabrication projects are not underway.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate steel pedestrian and security gates from raw material
  • Fabricate ornamental steel fencing, railings, frames, brackets, and similar components
  • MIG weld and perform general steel fabrication
  • Measure, cut, fit, square, weld, grind, and finish fabricated assemblies
  • Install steel fence posts, panels, gates, hinges, closers, and mechanical hardware
  • Repair sagging or damaged gates and fencing
  • Modify gates to accommodate existing electronic access-control hardware
  • Perform field welding and repairs
  • Prep and paint fabricated steel
  • Demolish and remove existing fencing and gates
  • Perform general apartment maintenance and construction work as needed

Requirements

  • Professional welding/fabrication experience
  • Experience with MIG welding
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and lay out fabrication work
  • Ability to operate saws, grinders, drills, welders, and standard construction tools
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot problems in the field
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Dependable and able to work full-time
  • Able to work at apartment communities and construction sites throughout Houston
