Overview

The Lead Welding Mechanic performs welding and installation work related to commercial HVAC systems on new construction and tenant improvement projects. This is a full-time position requiring 10 years of experience and a 6G certification, with a focus on local jobsites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG, MIG, and ARC welding.
  • Weld roof frames, black iron, stainless steel, and other steel materials related to HVAC systems.
  • Install commercial HVAC systems and components at various jobsites.
  • Read and work from mechanical and architectural plans.
  • Coordinate installation activities with general contractors and other trades.
  • Measure and determine materials needed to complete projects.
  • Follow jobsite safety requirements and proper installation practices.
  • Operate equipment such as scissor lifts, ladders, and other tools used in HVAC installation.
  • Assist with directing and training helpers as needed.
  • Work efficiently to keep projects on schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of TIG, MIG, and ARC welding experience.
  • Commercial construction or HVAC-related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and architectural plans related to HVAC systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and functions.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel to local jobsites.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to work independently.

Additional Information

  • Schedule is Mon-Fri, 6 or 7 AM for 8-10 hours per day.
  • Currently, 48 hours/week.

What you'll be running
