Overview

Established Long Island City company, in business since 1960, is looking for a Mechanic/Welder to join our service department. We install, service and repair commercial loading dock equipment throughout New York City and Long Island.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and install mechanical and hydraulic equipment
  • Welding and general steel fabrication
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Work in our shop and customer locations
  • Drive company trucks and service vehicles
  • Maintain tools, equipment, workbench and trucks in a clean, organized condition
  • Work from ladders up to 12-15 feet when required

Requirements

  • Welding experience
  • General mechanical ability
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to work independently and solve mechanical problems
  • Must be able to speak and write English and communicate well with customers and coworkers
  • Able to perform physical work

Additional Information

  • This is primarily a field service position, although some shop fabrication and repair work is involved.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
