Overview

NYSFAB, INC. is a miscellaneous steel fabrication shop located on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, NY, specializing in projects for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and custom metal fabrication. They are seeking a Full-Time Experienced Fabricator & Welder to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and weld miscellaneous steel, staircases, railings, and custom metal products according to shop drawings.
  • Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, etc.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and welding specifications.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to meet production schedules.

Requirements

  • Experience with TIG and MIG welding.
  • Strong fabrication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to producing quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
